Position Description

Director of Business Development
Division Overview: Communication Systems' experience spans more than 60 years in the design, production and integration of communication systems and components. Communication Systems is a leading supplier of commercial and military interior communications and audio distribution systems, wireless communication products, mass transit communications, passenger entertainment and TV surveillance systems, integrated radio management systems (IRMS), airline audio products, and microwave products.

Brief Summary: Plans, directs and coordinates the marketing of electronics/communication systems products and/or services personally or through subordinate supervisors. Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services. Identifies new business opportunities and presents to management for pursue/bid decisions. Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services. Formulates capture strategies and provides leadership to capture teams. Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized. Develops and recommends pricing strategies for assigned programs and products which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
Requirements: Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.E.E., B.A. - Marketing with technical background) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; Master’s preferred plus a minimum of 15 years directly related industry experience, with 8 years managerial experience. Prior background with Army Communication Systems is required. Previous operational experience a must. Must be familiar with government (military) standards and proposal requirements. Must have excellent communications and organizational skills, with the ability to prepare and effectively deliver presentations. Must be PC literate and proficient in word, excel and email. Must have a background that would permit the issuance of a Security clearance, which includes US citizenship.
