Position Description

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to lead, using a moderated open source approach, the strategic internal development and management of frameworks and components which are directly driven by the needs of business aligned technology initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:
Primary Objectives
* Develop high quality technology frameworks and components to facilitate faster time-to-market for business aligned technology initiatives.
* Reduce the overall cost of internal application development by enabling the re-use of high quality frameworks and components.
* Facilitate technical knowledge transfer between FIPT teams
* Contribute best practices that can be applied to other application development teams to make them more productive and efficient.
* Assist in the technical evaluation and analysis of new business initiatives and proposals.

Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
Core Competencies / Skills

Technical
* Expert level experience with object oriented languages and design patterns, particularly Java
* Strong focus on code quality, documentation and testing
* Extensive experience developing, maintaining, and deploying enterprise quality frameworks and tools
* Strong experience with Agile’ style development methods
* Expert with both front-end GUI and back-end development
* Expert knowledge of vendor development products and open source initiatives and tools (e.g. Spring, Hibernate, ESB, Tibco, MQ, Eclipse RCP, etc.)

Communication and Collaboration
* Experience working with diverse, geographically distributed teams

Business
* Some understanding of both the Fixed Income and Equities markets and products
