Job Overview:

Under the supervision of Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager, cleans and service building areas. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around the hospital departments; and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Must have ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Position requires standing for approximately 90% of the work day
  • Must have knowledge of infection control procedures

Preferred:

  • Hospital housekeeping preferred

Scheduling Requirements

  • Status: Per Diem
  • Shift: Evening
  • Has to be able to work, weekends, holidays and schedule as needed

Essential Functions:

  • Cleans stairs, vacuums and shampoos carpets, washes walls, climbs ladders to reach high areas
  • Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical; i.e., buffers, wringers, wet vacuums, etc.
  • Performs any duties asked of you by your supervisors with a positive attitude to include cleaning areas other in the facility other than your assigned area due to sick call, vacations and holidays by other employees
  • Picks up paper, objects and debris throughout the hospital whenever it is found
  • Takes an active role in recycling.
  • Makes sure that pick ups are prompt, and encourages recycling throughout the facility
