Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team! This position requires a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong account analysis and reporting background who will be able to provide accounting support for a high transaction and fast-paced environment. This Senior Accountant will support the Assistant Controller with general ledger, SOX compliance, external audits and State & Local taxes.
Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:
- Prepare journal entries, financial analyses, and month-end close process.
- Develop Financial schedules and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Research differences and proactively ensure complete and timely resolution.
- Ensuring SOX Compliance by reviewing adequate supporting documentation, approval by management, general ledger coding (overhead/billable) and accurate posting in ERP.
- Complete monthly/quarterly sales and use tax preparation for multiple entities.
- Assist with the corporate premises and equipment lease database, update lease schedules in accordance with GAAP ASC842 monthly and prepare journal entry.
- Provides support as needed to internal and external auditors and examiners.
- Assists with FAR overhead schedule, analysis, reporting and audit.
- Support DOT indirect cost rate submissions.
- Complete ad hoc reports as requested by Controller or other internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field required.
- 5+ years related experience in general ledger, financial reporting and account analysis required.
- ERP experience required, BST Global preferred.
- Microsoft Office project suite experience required as well as knowledge of advanced Excel functions (V lookups, Pivot tables, Macros).
- Ability to multi-task, critical thinking and problem-solving skills while maintaining an effective, positive relationship with team members.
- High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the company.
- Willing to adapt to change, curious about innovation and modernization in a dynamic workplace environment.
Compensation: $86,000-$96,000/YR DOQ.
