Job Description
Operating Engineer
The Operating Engineer will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations) and be multi-skilled in others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Any and other duties and tasks assigned.
Perform maintenance, monitor and repair mechanical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and control systems
to keep plant and building systems up to operational standards.
Perform preventive and maintain work orders in the CMMS tracking system.
Review and address clients service requests.
Maintain at all times a safe work environment.
Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 75 lbs., climb up
and down a ladder as well as working off one.
Must posses:
Q-01/Q-99 Refrigeration system operating engineer
S-12 Citywide sprinkler system
S-13 Standpipe System
S14 Supervision ofMulti-Zone Standpipe System
F01 Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment
G60 Torch Use of Flammable Gas
A-35 Operate and maintain air compressors
P-98 Supervise fuel-oil transfer in building
F-60 Fire guard for torch operation and fire guard for construction site
