Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working closely with the technical leads and Product Owners to deliver support data, analytics and reporting functionalities in the GWD platform
- Responsible for hands-on application development to support the current and target process across the SDLC - design, build, test, deploy support
- Assess and analyze existing database architecture to identify opportunities for modernization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align database solutions accordingly
- Ensure data integrity, security, and performance in the modernized database environment
- Provide technical guidance and support to development teams during the implementation of database changes
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in both traditional databases and big data
Requirements:
- Significant experience in Microsoft SQL programming and development (including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, CUBE (Star Schema))
- Hands-on experience in migrating from standard relational database to non-relational databases leveraging Big Data stack and alternate mechanisms like HDFS, Spark, Neo4j, Snowflake, Airflow, etc.
- Proficiency in database design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Significant experience in data normalization, denormalization, compression techniques to optimize data-size and performance
- Hadoop
