Brief Description:

This individual will require an understanding of the scope of Medical Affairs training and excellence as well as excellent organizational and project management skills. The position will deliver by building strong relationships with key partners in a highly matrixed team environment. This role is accountable for executing the US Medical Affairs (USMA) training objectives, strategy plan, learning programs, and field excellence. This individual will utilize scientific expertise in assigned therapeutic area(s) (TAs), and field medical experience to manage, conduct, facilitate and evaluate the USMA training program and resources. This individual will be a part of the USMA Training and Excellence team and report into the Director, Training and Excellence.

Essential Job Functions:

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Collaborate closely with USMA Training and Excellence team and relevant internal stakeholders like Medical Directors, Field Medical Leads, Global Medical Communications, etc. to employ adult learning principles and create scientific training curriculum and field Medical capabilities to provide dynamic training support for assigned therapeutic area(s) Jazz products.
  • Develop strategic and proactive training plan for the assigned TAs and USMA teams, including an onboarding plan and continued education.
  • Responsible for on-boarding of new hires to the assigned USMA teams by leveraging field medical experience to support scientific and medical capabilities foundational learning for field-readiness and coordinate plans for continuous development.
  • Proactively prepare field Medical to work independently within their respective territories by strategically planning, developing, and conducting or facilitating training for field Medical in each assigned TA.
  • Maintain accurate and updated training content by incorporating new trial data and disease state information, etc. for assigned TA.
  • Collaborate with USMA Training and Excellence team and internal Subject Matter Experts to maintain current Learning Management System (LMS) content and access.
  • Facilitate internal stakeholder meetings and design and deliver on workshops as needed to support assigned TA teams.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate training related to key congresses on data releases and booth content.
  • Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in relevant TA and disease state areas.
  • In collaboration with USMA Training and Excellence team and relevant leadership teams, regularly evaluate the success of training program and adapt the curriculum and delivery methods to maximize adult learning.
  • Play an active and important role in the development of the vision, strategic plan, resource, ongoing development, and refinement of capabilities of the assigned Medical team.
  • Any other Training related assignments as the USMA organization evolves.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced degree in Science or Medicine - PhD, PharmD or MD.
  • Strong understanding of Medical Affairs function and training/excellence needs, with at least 3-5 years within Medical Affairs.
  • Prior field Medical Affairs experience preferred.
  • Expertise in Jazz therapeutic areas of interest preferred.
  • Adult learning education or training experience, including design, delivery and evaluation of learning programs (preferred).
  • Exemplary presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Experience with LMS and the ability to effectively utilize proprietary software.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading and analytical skills.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple competing assignments and responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with the internal and external customers.
  • High-level of personal and professional integrity and ethics

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.

For this role, the full and complete base pay range is $148,000-$222,000. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
