Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Lead both long- and short-term strategic consultation and planning efforts for client benefit programs
  • Ensure programs and plan design are in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Utilize intermediate knowledge of actuarial concepts and underwriting practices to analyze claims data and provide applied explanation to the client
  • and internal team
  • Direct the service teams' work assignments related to project management, claims escalation and resolution, and plan analysis/reporting
  • Develop strong carrier and vendor relationships to support and leads negotiation and advocacy during client coverage placement and renewal process, utilizing department peers and/or leadership as necessary
  • Coordinate with internal subject matter experts and practice leaders to bring current and emerging markets and products and brings solutions to the table that are aligned with clients' stated goals through a commitment to continuous learning
  • Participate in finalist and/or prospect meetings in partnership with production staff, as appropriate
  • Participate in the development of prospect requests for proposals (RFPs), providing personnel responses and other information, as requested
  • Partner with production staff to ensure compensation received is properly executed
  • Availability to serve as a resource for other agency benefits staff throughout the entire benefits division
  • Strong commitment to participation in department or agency-wide committees and special projects

You Should Have

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive, Lead Consultant, or similar role in the employee benefits brokerage industry for 5+ years required
  • Knowledge of self-funded health plans required
  • Attain and maintain applicable state Life and Health License in accordance with IMA standards
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite required
  • Demonstrate above average business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequences
  • Experience with managing clients in a self funded captive is preferred
  • Demonstrate positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaboration
  • Demonstrate consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develop strategies for improvements in organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrate strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutions

Salary Range
$90,000$124,000 USD
