Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Operations Manager to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the test & Inspect, Service and Install departments. Safeway doesn't have coordinators that have fire alarm experience so the candidate must have a good working knowledge of fire alarm and codes for NYC, Nassau, and Suffolk county
  • Assist the coordinators with scheduling and the moving of manpower from each dept. to get calls completed
  • Review service jobs with the service coordinator to make sure we have the correct hours for billing on a job
  • Monitor emails from each coordinator to make sure the technicians are being used efficiently and correct parts are getting ordered or delivered and jobs are getting completed
  • Make sure billing is getting done and anything that can be billed is billed
  • Review the I&T WIP to make sure the Super/foreman is visiting projects prior to a tech being scheduled to review the job with the electricians
  • Review the I&T WIP to update when jobs should be scheduled for programming (technicians program the projects at Safeway) and mark jobs for updating, so admin can update the report
  • Sit with the super and admin monthly to review the WIP so the admin can follow up with contractors for a job update
  • Assist the project super on running projects
  • Work with the team to handle any issue on a job that should arise
  • Deal with the union shop steward on issues
  • Handle any union grievances that the union members may submit
  • Responsible for the fleet of company vehicles. (20)
  • Do weekly reports on the fleet for safety incidents and sent the reports to each tech. Pavion requires a safety score of 85%+
  • Handle the Vector reporting system for any accidents or safety issues
  • Answer technicians' questions when it comes to maintenance of the fleet vehicles
  • Assist with the work order reports on weekend emergency calls
  • Work with procurement to make sure the techs have any testing equipment, uniforms, and other items the technicians may need. Answer any questions that she may have
  • Responsible for the daily time sheets for all 30 employees and the approval on the weekend of said time sheets
  • Take calls from the technicians when they can't reach the coordinators or to answer technical questions they may have
  • Correct programming issues should the situation arise
  • Step in when the super is out or on vacation and handle his duties
  • Work with the contract salesman to make sure bids are going out correctly
  • Help the sales dept if they have questions
  • Sign the multiple forms for the DOE payment process weekly
  • Assist the engineering dept when they have an operations question
  • Attend jobsite meetings when asked to

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 Year college Degree
  • 10 Years NYC Fire Alarm Experience
  • 5 Years Union Experience
  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nicet & Edwards certified

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
