Job Description

About Datadog:

We're on a mission to build the best platform in the world for engineers to understand and scale their systems, applications, and teams. We operate at high scale-trillions of data points per day-allowing for seamless collaboration and problem-solving among Dev, Ops and Security teams globally for tens of thousands of companies. Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.

The Team:

Logs are critical to ensuring the availability, security/compliance and performance of modern applications, but as log volumes grow exponentially year over year, realizing value from the mountain of data becomes increasingly difficult and expensive. We are looking for a product manager with strong technical experience who can partner with customers and engineering to prioritize a very ambitious roadmap and reimagine Onboarding for Log Management. The candidate will help make the onboarding experience of logs very easy and flexible as well as launch exciting new out-of-the-box Log Insights and Applications for our users based on their industry, role, or use cases.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Log Management customers, use cases, and competitors
  • Define and execute the roadmap and requirements for Onboarding to Log Management
  • Drive the strategy for new Log Patterns as well as Log Anomaly Detection
  • Surface exciting new insights and out-of-the-box content for various personas in DevOps, Security & Compliance
  • Collaborate with an amazing team of product managers, data science specialists, designers and software engineers to reimagine our onboarding experience
  • Ensure that our augmented insights collection continues to scale well as Datadog adds more customers and ingests more data per customer
  • Work with a broad range of internal cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing and customer success teams, to define GTM strategy for Log Insights

Who You Are:

  • A proven track record as a technical product manager independently defining strategy and owning execution of a SaaS product or data streaming service
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in SaaS Product Management or combination of Product and Engineering experience
  • Hands on experience using multiple services from one or more of the major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Hands on experience using data analytics tools such as Metabase, Looker or Tableau
  • Prior experience with solutions like Splunk or Elasticsearch is a strong plus

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+
  • Competitive global benefits

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Datadog ranges from $149,000 to $190,000, plus a competitive equity package, and may include variable compensation.
