JOB SUMMARY

The Technology & Data Solutions (TDS) business unit is the Syneos Health accelerator for life sciences innovation. TDS houses our advanced technology acquisitions, homegrown products & applications, actively participates in new M&A and partnership activities, delivers critical insights as part of our integrated strategy for customers and drives enterprise-wide adoption and change management for innovative tech & data solutions. Our work supports getting meaningful new medicines to patients faster, with greater positive impact. The Director, Project Management supports our business goals by overseeing the project management teams that partner within our business unit (engineers, data scientists and media experts) to deliver projects on time and within budget in support of our customers and their needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage teams of Managers and Project Managers and Technical Project Managers. Responsibilities include line management, performance management, and professional development for those employees along with interviewing and onboarding new team members.

* Work closely with clients, cross-functional teams, and information technology to create, manage, and track success against business objectives.

* Oversee the team that develops detailed project requirements / scope, level of effort and cost estimates / budgets from cross-functional teams and external vendors for complex data driven projects using standard project management methodology (agile development, waterfall implementation) and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.

* Manage the day-to-day activities of projects and staff; communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to manage expectations and ensure project deliverables are on schedule and on budget and in accordance with Company processes.

* Identify, analyze, and evaluate risks and create risk mitigation plans. Ensure risk mitigation plans executed effectively.

* Create resource plans, coordinate and manage resources (onsite and offshore) for multiple projects in the program across different project phases of project lifecycle.

* Utilize a deep understanding of the product, platform domains, architecture, integrations, stakeholders (including their roles and responsibilities), cross-project dependencies, and timelines.

* Communicate regularly with technology teams to track progress, surface deadlines for deliverables, understand risks, and facilitate conversations to mitigate these risks.

* Assist with monthly revenue forecasts, resource and organizational capacity planning.

* Educate and provide thought leadership for the introduction of project management methodologies in digital product and process development.

* Mentor and coach junior team members across the business.

* Bring global teams together for one goal.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in any related field.

* Experience leading a high performing team and working across multiple stakeholders to deliver results while educating and growing team members. Global experience is preferred with colleagues and client interaction.

* Experience delivering data science or analytics products to paying clients on time and on budget.

* Exceptional, self-motivated leader with strong persuasion, negotiation, conflict resolution, time management, and organizational skills.

* Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and multi-task effectively, motivating and coordinating cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment to achieve well-defined timelines and goals.

* Analytical mindset, aptitude for working on a team with highly technical data scientists, data architects and/or IT experts.

* Working knowledge of digital marketing, Salesforce CRM software, databases, and analytic/statistical tools a plus.

* Proficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project). PMP Certification is a plus

* Pharmaceuticals / healthcare experience preferred.

Years of experience required: Eight to ten (8-10) years of project management experience and two to three (2-3) years of management experience.

Working hours: Willingness to work Eastern hours

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $106,830 to $207,800. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
