Job Description Hybrid Role, candidates must be located near Hartford CT, St. Louis MO, Dallas TX, or Newark NJ.

Our industry-leading healthcare and insurance company is looking for a skilled Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the web application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. Effectively communicate to individuals at all levels of the technical and business communities. Develops a strong affiliation with the requirements, technology solution and operational readiness organizations, including the ability to use, share, contribute and influence the appropriate artifacts, approach and best-practices used to test enterprise-scale solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS/SCSS.
  • Hands on extensive experience with of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including React and Angular.
  • Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Strong background in object oriented software development. Knowledge of modern, cloud-hosted, single page applications.
  • Previous experience with unit testing and automated builds and deploys Ability to write web services in Java using the Spring Boot framework.
  • Database knowledge and advanced query skills for Sql and NoSql databases.
  • Previous experience or knowledge using Kafka to build event-driven architecture between applications.
  • Familiarity with building applications in a large scale enterprise environment.
  • Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
