Team / Division Overview

The DWS Product Division is responsible for the entire lifecycle of all new and existing products across all types of investments and structures. Within the Product Division, the Product Specialist team for Private Debt takes responsibility globally for Real Estate Debt, Infrastructure Debt, Corporate Private Credit and Structured Credit.

The Product Specialist would work alongside the investment team of the respective asset class, in a client facing role acting as the technical asset class expert in client meetings, assisting the Client Coverage Division (CCD) in raising assets, and bringing critical client perspective back to the product development team to influence product design and implement a roadmap for extending product offerings to new client segments.

Role Details

As a "Senior Product Specialist" for Private Debt with a focus on Corporate Private and Structured Credit ("Alternative Credit"), you will be part of the Private Debt Product Specialists team, owning and driving the product agenda for Alternative Credit strategies across DWS.

Key responsibilities include:

Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for existing and new product initiatives including the coordination of the product roadmap for fundraising jointly with the Client Coverage Division (CCD)

  • Lead the development of new concepts in partnership with CCD and the Investment Division (ID) to extend access to Alternatives with a focus on Alternative Credit to different client segments, especially the Wholesale and Retail client channels

  • Lead content development incl. pitchbooks, market and peer analysis and provide ongoing training and transparency to CCD

  • Attend industry conferences to present DWS' Private Debt capabilities, maintain market knowledge and understand the competitive landscape

  • Being directly accountability for the end-to-end design of investment solutions in your respective area of responsibility

We are looking for:

  • Over 10 years Asset Management experience in a comparable role with Private Debt or Alternative Credit knowledge

  • Experience with Corporate Private Credit, Structured Credit and traditional Fixed Income as well as strong knowledge of fund structures, regulatory and tax treatment

  • Strong knowledge of Insurance regulation and capital charge treatment of Alternative Credit asset classes

  • Strong strategic mindset with proven ability to work collaboratively to define and implement business initiatives

  • Excellent communication skills with experience in presenting regularly to senior forums internally and externally

  • Delivery focused, with strong resilience, drive and the ability to work hand in hand with partners from across the firm to move the business forward

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative thinker able to bring forward and promote new ideas and initiatives

  • Eager to learn and willingness to stay abreast of regulatory changes in Alternative Credit

  • Relevant university degree (Master's degree level preferred)

  • Professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, CISI)

  • English, German optional

License(s) required:

  • SIE, FINRA Series 7 and 63

The salary range for this position in New York City is $200,000 to $300,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
