Job Purpose

The Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Asset Management Lead Engineer is responsible for developing strategies, performing analyses, and creating plans that enable National Grid to build and maintain safe and reliable LNG facility operations while optimizing the return on investment from the company's LNG assets.

Key Accountabilities

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provide risk-based asset management support of LNG assets in National Grid's New York Brooklyn LNG facilities.
  • Set the asset management strategy to improve reliability, manage risk, meet regulatory obligations, and deliver customer satisfaction at optimum cost with consideration for rate case implications.
  • Work with LNG Operations to carry out field work and investigation to evaluate asset condition.
  • Translate requirements and business objectives into well-defined asset replacement projects and life extension programs with clearly defined business cases.
  • Develop, budget, and deliver asset plans for maintenance and capital investment to improve business performance for short (annual blanket work) and long term (10-year plan).
  • Support portable LNG operations when necessary.
  • Advance National Grid's Asset Management Maturity level in accordance with API 1173 and ISO 55001.
  • Work with Process Safety team to implement and support process safety controls.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Project Management experience managing against fixed timescales and budgets.
  • Stakeholder Management experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external).
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school required.
  • 7+ years process or design engineering experience or asset management at an LNG and/or process facility or similar, including naval or maritime experience required.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in NY is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 59A Code and ANSI/CSA NGV Standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation preferred.
  • 1+ year relevant industry experience in process control and instrumentation or relevant educational experience
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proficient with PC software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary - $138,000 - $164,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
