Responsibilities

Exercise leadership in the development of the home infusion nursing operations. Responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day operations, which includes coordination of all activities, monitoring quality indicators, monitoring financial performance, and modeling a customer service approach to service delivery. Assist in the development of short and long range plans and participates in strategic and business planning for the organization's home care services. Works to realize growth objectives and other goals established for the corporation. Function as Administrator or Nurse Manager when applicable.

  • Ensure the staff has appropriate qualifications for the care that is being delivered. Direct and lead all clinical service programs. Oversee and direct Nurse Manager and Manager of Clinical Practice to ensure that delivery of quality care is conforming to regulations, company standards, payor guidelines and licensing standards. Supervise programs and staff as per the organizational chart.
  • Maintain program quality on-par with best practices and top decile performance. Responsible for the completion and evaluation of ongoing QAPI projects. Review results with staff and develop action plans for improvement. Responsible for clinical review. Implement action plans and complete trending reports. Attends and chairs quarterly performance improvement meetings.
  • Assure compliance with all system policies/procedures and all reimbursement and regulatory guidelines with regard to nursing operations of home infusion, licensed by any state/federal licensing body. Assure adherence to Corporate Compliance regulations; payor requirements and regulatory agency standards including Joint Commission (TJC) and state licensure standards.
  • Meet benchmarks for employee satisfaction by creating an environment that assures that employees are satisfied. Implement action plans to be followed if benchmarks are not met. Assure effective and routine communication with team members. Assure open lines of communication.
  • Review employee turnover and vacancy rates and address issues. Establish recruitment needs that satisfy growth initiatives. Assure that resources are available to staff for appropriate orientation and ongoing training.
  • Build effective teams committed to organizational excellence. Create an environment that encourages employees to develop, be creative and solve problems. Empower teams to share ownership and vision.
  • Champion for patient satisfaction. Track patient satisfaction results monthly and develop actions plans to maintain outstanding patient satisfaction scores. Assure corrective actions are implemented when results are below standard.
  • Accountable for the plans of action which support the HMHAH Strategic Plan. Educate and support managers and supervisors to achieve goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a broad range of team members in the HMH system that is professional and effective in order to achieve goals. Maintain effective relationships with outside entities that may provide legislative/regulatory input and guidance and support.
  • Plan and direct clinical programs to address and treat patients with chronic conditions and prevent hospital readmissions. Collaborate with Insurance payors, physicians, hospitals and other relevant personnel to ensure payor coverage and establish clinical protocols.
  • Identify and act on growth opportunities. Foster an aggressive approach to service delivery that furthers growth initiatives by establishing and fostering positive relationships with referral sources. Work closely with the sales department & pharmacy department to achieve targets. Develop and implement recommendations, plans and strategies to improve current services.
  • Identify creative applications and refinement of products/services to meet patient needs. Explore new therapies and/or services that are safe in the home environment & beneficial to the patient and the family where appropriate. Utilize technology as appropriate.
  • Plan and direct educational programs for the community and referral resources. Be willing to represent the program/division at community functions and participate in public speaking engagements to various organizations, physicians, and other interested parties.
  • Review technology in order to assess needs and make recommendations for program development. Coordinate development of strategic plans for the service line incorporating technology initiatives. Identify resource needs (people, equipment, facilities) to support implementation of plan.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Home Infusion & DME in the preparation of annual departmental budgets. Keep abreast of reimbursement trends and assist with implementation of changes as needed. Monitor pay and bill rates. Meet budgeted financial targets.
  • Act as a role model for the managers and supervisors within the organization and lead by example. Exhibit a strong commitment to the ideals and behaviors embodied in the organization's culture. Maintain an environment that supports growth and working relationships between operations and sales.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH's Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 2 hours a day.

Qualifications


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Minimum of Eight (8) Years Healthcare Experience
  • Minimum of Five (5) Years Management Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace Applications


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's Degree
  • Home Infusion Leadership Experience

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
