Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Selects gauge and type of sheet metal such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material such as plastics or fiberglass, according to product specifications.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
  • Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form, trims, files, grinds, de-burs, buffs, and smooth's surfaces.
  • Employee is responsible for welds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.
  • Responsible for installing assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints.
  • Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.
  • Repairs and maintains sheet metal products.
  • Fabrication worker is required to operate equipment to bend, punch, sheer emboss, roll, or spot weld sheet metal to form parts for the manufacture of KOOLTRONIC products.
The different areas of responsibility are described below:

The operator's responsibility is to inspect the part to ensure that the 1st piece and every 10th piece there -after is within specification. He/or she must be able to read drawings, use veneers, a tape measure, micrometer, protractor, or fixture as required. They are to use safety equipment i.e. gloves, safety glasses, magnetic tongs, etc. If for any reason there should be a mechanical problem with a machine they are to stop and report it immediately. It is the operator's responsibility to ensure that the correct number of parts are made and that any and all rejects are given to the QC inspector for disposition. After completing the operation the operator is to input the pieces into the paperless reporting system. Finally he/or she is to move the parts to the next operation or final QC inspection area for acceptance or rejection.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Hours - 7am-3:30pm; Monday-Friday
