Job Summary for IT SAP S4 Project Manager:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of IT Business Solution, the primary responsibility of the IT SAP S4 Project Manager position is to manage and execute IT projects related to SAP S4 sales & distribution, and logistics execution. The successful candidate will work with business teams to understand requirements, design, and deliver solutions in a highly integrated environment. The candidate will act as SAP subject matter expert (SME) and will have extensive expertise in the areas (with a strong focus on SAP SD and LE) of the business using SAP. This is a hybrid role (10-12 days work from home/month) based in our New York City office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage SAP S4 evolution and enhancement projects (60%)
    • Collaborate with key business partners and users to define business needs and priority, drive implementation, and being the liaison of front office business and IT team
    • Being able to translate complex business challenges and issues into technical design. Define, challenge, and validate technical prerequisites & compatibilities and interfaces; write technical specifications
    • Leads the delivery of medium to large initiatives related to SAP and oversees all project activities
    • Ensures project activities are aligned to deliver the identified technology strategies, and business goals & objectives, while meeting quality, scheduling, budget, and IT standards requirements.
    • Ensures alignment of project stakeholders via communications, influencing, and relationship building.
    • Provides accurate project timelines and ensures project activities and resources are superbly allocated to align with the priorities established by business.
    • Simultaneously leads multiple projects, coordinating resources across IT and within the business operating units.
    • Partners with the respective Business Leaders and associated IT managers/directors to ensure a quality delivery of project deliverables.
    • Through project deployment, fosters and guides full adoption of tools, services and common business processes, and cultivates super-users to strengthen solution ownership and self-sufficiency.
    • Drives the importance of testing / QA practices / security, as well as IT and business cross-training across all project initiatives.
    • Active participation with the IT and Business Management Teams to develop and measure project success criteria and return on investment.

  • Manage EDI and non-SAP projects (15%)
    • Manage and deliver EDI projects as assigned (e.g. EDI enhancement, 3PL, etc.) and ensures projects are managed and delivered on-time and within budget.
    • Being able to understand business challenges and propose effective technical solutions to continuously improve business process and efficiency.
    • Participate in global projects for the implementation phase
    • Be the solution architect for smaller projects and manage execution for quick wins

  • User support & training (15%)
    • Provide S4 support for urgent service tickets and request
    • Lead SAP support service consultant to ensure tickets are managed on time and in full
    • Provide training and assistance to existing and new users to build up user experience and knowledge of the front office system
    • Partners up with the key users to implement/optimize new and existing processes

  • Act as key IT business partners (10%)
    • Develops solid understanding of business processes and business dependencies on supported technologies
    • Collaborates with business team on IT related projects, and provide guidance & recommendation on technical solutions.
    • Understands business goals and proposes technology solutions. Assesses the requirements of technology solutions, including estimates of time, staffing and costs to implement and support the solution
    • Challenges user requests to ensure that best practices are followed and implemented

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field
  • At least 7 - 10 years progressive experience in leading the deployment of medium to large scale SAP and other IT initiatives, preferably in CPG industry. Must have led at least one SAP implementation.
  • Strong technical and functional experience with SAP SD, MM, LE.
  • Technical skills for understanding the development, configuration, implementation, and support of business solution.
  • Experience in integrating SAP with non-SAP systems using middleware/EDI/API
  • Extensive experience in building detailed, technical project plans and documenting all project management artifact
  • Proven track record in managing and executing complex SAP projects with geographically distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively understand business requirements and design technical solutions, communicate ideas and solutions across all levels of the organization (written & verbal)
  • Deep level of proficiency and understanding of information technology and the linkage between business processes, people, and systems.
  • Solid business acumen across multiple functional areas / processes.
  • Must demonstrate change leadership skills: ability to effectively manage communication, negotiate successful outcomes, identify risks, engage correct stakeholders, etc.
  • Strong facilitation skills to drive issue resolution and consensus efficiently and effectively across all levels of the organization. Well-versed in project management tools and methodology.
  • Being able to work and collaborate in a multi-cultural environment

Preferred Qualification:

  • High performance dedication, including attention to the details, and willingness to work issues to successful closure with strong results orientation driving change in a complex environment.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills and show independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques.
  • SAP Certifications are highly regarded
  • Professional certification e.g. PMP are desired

Total Rewards:

Base Salary: $160,000 - $170,000

15% bonus potential

20 days PTO
