Job Description

Working with the Privacy Officer and privacy team, help drive compliance with U.S. federal and state privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA/HITECH, and CCPA, among others, as well international privacy regulations and regulations related to information security.

This is an Onsite postion. (Hybrid schedule - 3 days from Site and 2 days from Home office)


  • Conducts policy and standard operating procedure research and development.
  • Implementation of practical solutions to support Privacy.
  • Conduct investigation of and response to government and patient complaints and incidents.
  • Communicate with patients regarding privacy complaints.
  • Work with business leaders to resolve privacy issues, including developing practical solutions.
  • Analysis of Personal Information and Protected Health Information breaches, patient risk analysis, and notification letter development, and reporting to government agencies.
  • Statistical reporting related to breaches, privacy incidents, OCR cases.
  • Analyze data privacy incidents and breaches to determine trends.
  • Monitoring of privacy industry development, research of new and emerging U.S. and international laws and regulations related to privacy, security.
  • Administration of privacy office issues.
  • Assist in the development of training materials for the employee population relating to protection of PHI and PI.
  • Provide support on privacy matters arising from the Regions and functional areas as needed.
  • Other functions and projects as assigned.
  • Work with attorneys to interpret regulations, assist with and manage a variety of tasks, projects, processes.
  • Responsible for supporting Privacy Officer with special assignments or projects, as needed.

Required Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years in a health care company or law firm working on privacy issues, laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to prioritize activities.

Education:

  • A.S/B.S. or equivalent preferred; Paralegal certificate a plus.
  • Healthcare compliance and/or privacy certifications (e.g., CHC, CHPC, CIPP/US) are a plus.
