Franklin Income Investors is looking for a Portfolio Analyst / SMA Specialist. Reporting to the portfolio management team, the role will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and management of Franklin Income SMA (separately managed account) strategy.

What are the responsibilities?
  • Implementing investment decisions for Franklin Income SMA.

  • Daily monitoring of portfolio positioning, trade executions, cash management and compliance within client guidelines.

  • Addressing client requests and managing events throughout the client's lifecycle, such as account openings, cash flows, rebalances and tax harvests.

  • Monitor asset allocation guidelines, model drift and dispersion.

  • Daily interaction with operations to ensure proper and timely processing of client requests.

  • Assist with allocations and trade settlement for Income SMA strategies.

  • Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports for the portfolio management team and sponsors.

  • Identify and implement any areas of improvement, including leveraging technology and automation to scale.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
  • 2+ years of previous investment industry experience with a basic understanding of financial markets and portfolio management.

  • Minimum bachelor's degree, preferred focus on economics, finance, financial engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Strong numeric and data analysis skills, including the ability to reconcile data from different sources.

  • Ability to analyze data in excel and present financial data in a client ready format.

  • Proven information gathering skills, outstanding attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Detail-oriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills that can be leveraged to evaluate portfolios.

  • Must be a team player but with the capability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills; proactive towards new challenges and problem solving.

Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. The salary, benefits and variable rewards will reflect the seniority of the position and a competitive market rate. We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $90,000 to $114,000 in addition to a competitive bonus.

Work Location: San Ramon, CA or New York City - This role requires being in office 5 days a week.
