Role & Responsibilities:

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing daily activities and programs tailored to the needs and interests of the individuals with disabilities. This may include recreational activities, educational sessions, social outings, and life skills development. They will also oversee a team of support staff by providing guidance, supervision, and training to ensure that they are equipped to effectively support individuals with disabilities.

  • Supervises, instructs, and reviews rehab employees' job performance to ensure that, services are provided in a safe and effective manner and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for day to day coordination of work site assignments, programs and activities while ensuring that the needs of people served are being met in accordance with the documented Rehabilitation plans.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment by ensuring the day program is adequately staffed; including providing coverage when needed.
  • Monitor employee schedules and adherence to their schedules.
  • Work with staff to complete all required paperwork including consumer documentation, first report of injury, incident reports, facility inspections, etc.
  • Participate and/or facilitate employee and consumer training, as needed.
  • Oversee and submit staff payroll timesheets.
  • Manage crises, de-escalating conflicts, and implement appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff.
  • May work with manager and the landlord on building issues, as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with participants, their families, caregivers, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that program activities align with individual goals and preferences.
  • May also collaborate with external agencies, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to enhance support services.
  • Assures that all health and safety regulations are strictly enforced.
  • May have to attend to personal care issues of others, as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in related field
  • Minimum of (2) Two years' supervisory experience
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities or disabling conditions
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution, college, or university
  • Post-Secondary Course Work with related experience
  • Strong commitment to high level of service and quality standards
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, develop and lead teams
  • Ability to plan and organize
  • Proficient technological and computer software skills

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the incumbent will have to sit, stand and or walk for the majority of the shift. The incumbent is required to regularly talk or hear while fulfilling the duties of the job. The incumbent may have to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 75 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
