Project Engineer will be the main communication interface between US, Mexico and European affiliates for all material management and procurement activities and will be responsible for ensuring material requisition and purchasing processes adhere to group standards. Identifies and implements local cost reduction measures for indirect and direct procurement in collaboration with regional commodity managers.

  • Manages local supply shortages and risks and escalates to regional management levels
  • Executes measures defined in commodity group strategies and ensures their local implementation
  • Responsible for procurement, projects, and maintenance of assigned commodity groups
  • Responsible for the preparation of data and analysis of relevant projects internally to management and staff
  • Setup long term slot planning according to regional forecasts
  • Setup and maintain takted flow line including material planning
  • Support transition to SAP S4HANA
  • Support local MRP and purchasing functions to harmonize with regional standards
  • Evaluate supplier performance and provide regular feedback to regional commodity manager
  • fluent Spanish, English, and German

Experience

One to three years' previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, procurement, or project management in an industrial environment. Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, strong analytical and conceptual skills, and high self-confidence are a must. Must be organized, flexible, must take initiative and be able to work independently as well as on a team. Experience with material management, inventory control, SAP, working with lean manufacturing initiatives, and understanding of cost breakdowns is strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs including PowerPoint, Word and Excel is required

Education

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, engineering and/or business or related field, or suitable combination of education and work experience required. MBA or CSCP/CPIM, CPSM, or SCPro certifications preferred.
