The electrical engineering group is in a growth phase at present which provides excellent opportunities for all staff from the junior electrical engineer to the seasoned electrical project manager. Designs are always completed to the highest ethical standards and include high levels of sustainable design.

  • Responding to Request for Proposals (RFP) relating to electrical engineering services
  • Making presentations relating to RFP responses
  • Developing electrical scopes and fees related to RFPs for electrical projects
  • Understanding and designing both low and medium voltage electrical power distribution systems.
  • Electrical analysis experience in performing electrical load flow, breaker coordination, short circuit, and arc flash calculations using SKM Power Tools Design and/or ETAP experience related to electrical distribution and load calculations
  • Make formal and informal presentations to customers and potential customers

We are seeking an electrical engineer who will support electrical projects in our Northeast unit. The person will take a lead role in delivering the design of electrical systems for complex transportation, underground environments and will support other sectors of the electrical industry such as wastewater, renewables and building systems. Ability to perform calculations using software and/or spreadsheets as well as having a constructable knowledge of components used in designs.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET accredited four-year college or university or equivalent required
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in electrical design, ideally for transportation infrastructure projects
  • Design experience in both low and medium voltage electrical power distribution systems
  • Design experience relating to variable frequency drives is a plus but not required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred, or able to obtain quickly after hire
  • Familiarity with NFPA, IEEE, NEC and ANSI codes and standards including NFPA 70, 70E, 130, and 502
  • Ability to use various software to size emergency generators (EG), uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) as well as other distribution equipment
  • Have basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in electrical engineering
  • Have an understanding of NESC Life Safety and OSHA
  • Have experience in in the use of IESNA standards and applicable AGI32 or DIALux software associated with lighting designs
  • Familiarity with calculations such as voltage drop, ampacity cable sizing, fill calculations, etc.
  • A proven track record of successful financial management of electrical engineering projects
  • National Tunnel Inspection Certificate (NCIT) is desirable but not required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to write engineering reports and specifications

Salary Range: $110,000 - $145,000
