Job Description

Westfield Specialty is a start-up segment within Westfield Group, an Ohio-based Global insurer providing both personal and commercial lines insurance for over 175 years. Westfield Specialty launched operations in Q3 2021 and has exceeded premium and profit expectations with further expansion and growth planned. We are looking for capable, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individuals to join the Underwriting Operations team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and skills that will ensure that all operational processes and systems are performing as expected via the build-out and implementation of the operations quality and control program. This initiative will be independently driven with clear plans and measures of success. The scope includes the full policy life cycle process and systems, from submission intake, broker maintenance, policy administration, and post bind processes.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and maintain processes, systems, and supporting documentation for the full policy life cycle and structured quality assurance program.
  • Ensure operational processes, systems, and analytics align with the needs of the operation as demonstrated through reporting, measures, metrics, and structured testing methods.
  • Administer training and provide end-user support to on and offshore partners, new team members, and other stakeholders within WFS.
  • Provide oversight and drive project-specific tasks associated with programs designed to improve the operation with defined measures for success.
  • Perform quality assurance on business processes and systems to ensure compliance with operational, regulatory, underwriting, and corporate guidelines.
  • Research and answer inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Participate and act as a subject matter expert on process, systems, and reporting initiatives and Special Projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • College degree and a minimum of 5 to 10 years of work experience in the insurance industry. Six Sigma, project management, SDLC, and process definition are a plus.
  • Must have an excellent work ethic and leadership acumen.
  • Capable of mastering multiple systems and have experience working in a paperless environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a time-sensitive, fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Display a professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
