Are you inspired to contribute your expertise to a global leader in taste, scent and nutrition, offering customers a broader range of solutions for the food & beverage industry?We're hiring a Flavorist II, Sweet/Dairy category to join our Flavor Creative Nourish team in New Century, KS.This is an opportunity to help bring new flavors with proprietary technologies to our customers. You will collaborate with other technical experts to develop flavors that will win in marketplace and be a trend setter. In this role, you will have opportunities to contribute to the business growth via enhancement of IFF Flavor product portfolios.

Long Description

Your Focus:

  • Independently develop flavors in line with business needs and in response to customer brief and strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrates creative leadership across organization to maximize IFF technology and provide innovative flavor solutions.
  • Leading assessment/evaluation of new R&D raw materials or technologies and providing feedback to the technical community.
  • Supporting, driving and leading the use of new technologies in flavor creations.
  • Understand the best practices within or outside the region with regards to Taste design.
  • Be a partner of choice to customers, internal or external, via demonstrating technical expertise and capabilities as well as problem solving skills.
  • Support Account Managers or Category team as needed in showcasing effectively, usages of new ingredients and technologies to customers.
  • Interfacing with other IFF functions as necessary to ensure a smooth bench to batch development and commercialization process.

Strategy and Business Knowledge

  • Understands regional marketstaste differences or preferences and create Flavors accordingly.
  • Interacts with key customers to understand requirements and build strong and trusted partnership.
  • Familiarize with IFF system to ensure smooth execution of project.
  • Establishes regional/global network to leverage and exchange knowledge.
  • Foster cross category collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements

* Science degree (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, etc.)preferably a Master's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Food Engineering and/or Chemistry Engineering

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in Flavors Development with excellent smelling and taste evaluation skills.
  • Proven track record in Sweet andDairy Flavor creations, possess strong knowledge of Flavors and food manufacturing processes, specifically extensive knowledge of Sweet andDairy products or market trends.
  • Ability to work independently and within project teams in focused categories, develop winning flavors for key regional and global customers.
  • Demonstrate good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Abilityto deal with ambiguity, make quality decision and prioritize task effectively and efficiently under pressure and tight deadline.
  • Local market knowledge on key trends, customer needs and local tastes.
  • Inquisitive and always go beyond when working on solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a B2B environment with a positive, self-driven or results oriented attitude.
