Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Admin Analyst II for NJMS-Pathology. This position develops, interprets, and implements financial accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control by performing the following duties. Ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, account analysis and assists in the preparation of expenditure and revenue forecasts.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Assists in reviewing department programs and activities and in evaluating their administration, objectives, efficiency, effectiveness, and suitability to current conditions, costs, and goals, using established procedures and standards.
  • As assigned, assesses new administrative ideas and approaches; keeps department or unit informed of advanced administrative practices and developments.
  • Assists in installing reporting systems for assessing work performance, including workload volume, backlog, revenues, expenditures, and the preparation of function operating manuals.
  • Assists in developing, preparing, and executing budgets; evaluates proposed plans of organization, methods, and budget requests; assists in evaluating budget requests and making recommendations on these requests; assists with the development and application of financial programs and policies.
  • Participates in administrative planning, organizational review, administrative and procedural studies; capital planning and research; and assists in introducing new techniques and methods to improve administration.
  • Analyzes and validates extensive detail of monthly funds-flow report on Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine clinical revenue and expenses

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of responsible experience involving the review, analysis and evaluation of budgets, organizations, administrative practices, computer applications, and the recommendation of improved methods in a large business, government agency or educational institution.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Candidates must be proficient in computer applications.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in responsible phases of accounting, finance, and budgeting.
  • Candidates with previous experience in Oracle and tableau is a plus
