Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer to join its team in Mt. Laurel, NJ! We are a full-service consulting engineering and construction observation/ testing firm involved in leading-edge engineering solutions for the latest cellular technology to meet the demands of major carriers and tower owners nationwide. The Telecom Project Engineer will be involved in all aspects of site design associated with engineering telecommunication wireless and wireline (fiber optic) projects.


Responsibilities

  • Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
  • Prepare advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
  • Utilize advanced techniques, theories and practices to complete assignments.
  • Design and review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Develop and apply new and/or improved techniques, processes, etc., for designing engineering plans.
  • Analyze and interpret data, formulate and solve problems.
  • Prepare or review scopes of work and budgets, and schedule assignments.
  • Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
  • Provide direction to engineers, technicians and administrative staff.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work.
  • Represent the organization in a variety of ways as an expert on engineering assignments.
  • Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D and alongside the design team managers to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
  • Perform field investigations/ site visits as needed.
  • Review Lease Exhibits prepared by others.
  • Review Zoning & Construction Drawings (raw lands, rooftops, etc.) prepared by others.
  • Prepare Stormwater and Grading design with minimal guidance.
  • Provide technical guidance to Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Project Engineers.
  • Internally manage small groups of sites (10-20 sites) for completion with PM oversight.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for smaller external clients.
  • Assist and host conference calls with clients for site design issues and zoning preparation.
  • Provide PM support for specific delegated tasks.
  • Develop basic understanding of all Telecom service lines.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 4-10 years of experience in related field.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Civil design experience preferred.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate extensive, diversified, and complex knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices.
  • Demonstrate advanced investigative, analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to effectively perform as a key team member/role model member (demonstrate collaboration and respect for others; contribute; lead by example, etc.).
  • Demonstrate advanced technical and nontechnical writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills, both oral and written for the purpose of client, contractor and co-worker interactions.
  • Able to complete field work requiring walking as well as travel required.
