Job Description
Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer- Data Lake Platform (Engineer/Admin) for a 6-month contract position with a Global Insurance agency located in Warren, NJ or Hartford, CT. This position is hybrid onsite in Warren, NJ (2- 3 days per week required, must reside within a 1-hour commute of the Warren, NJ or Hartford, CT. office).
This position has the potential to extend or convert to full-time.
Summary:
As a senior data engineer on the Data Lake Platform team - you will be responsible for building out new Data Lake Platform functionality and providing support to other data engineering teams who are utilizing the Data Lake Platform. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset to work with other teams and assist them when things go wrong as well as the technical skills to troubleshoot problems and adhere to best practices.

Responsibilities:
- Define standards for data ingestion for the Azure Data Lake
- Administration- role out changes to the environment when required (for example updating version of Spark)
- Design ingestion patterns for new sources
- Troubleshoot any network or security related issues.
- Azure Data Factory, Azure DataBricks, Data Lake Architecture, Azure DevOps, Python, SQL, solid understanding of Azure fundamentals and security best practices, Release management / CICD pipelines, Logic Apps, Azure Functions
- 2+ years of hands on experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure DataBricks (Azure platform is a must
