The Senior Manager, Asset Compliance manages the RWE Clean Energy Internal Compliance Program established to maintain compliance with mandatory North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operations and Planning (O&P) standards. This role is responsible for the O&P, Operating, Post-COD team as direct reports. Individuals at this level manage work in multiple areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. O&P activities may include cause analysis, audit preparation, self-reports, mitigation plans, data requests, and other NERC activities. The successful candidate will be expected to promote an understanding of compliance responsibilities for the organization, facilitate education and training to achieve and sustain compliance success. The position will require staying current and acquiring information on best practices that may be implemented in support of our reliability functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Along with the Director, Asset Compliance, develop the internal compliance monitoring program requirements related to O&P Operating, Post-COD each year and effectively complete the program requirements
  • Manage sites Post-COD ensuring compliance once they reach an operating status
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager, O&P Compliance, Development, Pre-COD to ensure compliance efforts align
  • Demonstratea broad knowledge of NERC, O&P compliance controls, regulatory matters, and business application
  • Performinvestigative analysis and identifies risks and recommendations
  • Maintain sound technical understanding of NERC compliance monitoring and enforcement processes
  • Coordinate proactive development of procedures, processes, and recordkeeping of evidence with internal departments to ensure compliance with NERC O&P Standards and Requirements
  • Serves as an interface between stakeholder, team members, business units, support groups, contractors, and vendors to ensure appropriate communication and problem resolution
  • Coordinate meeting forums and subject matter to communicate requirements
  • Provide excellent customer support to deliver compliance results to internal and external parties
  • Demonstratein-depth understanding of applicable NERC O&P Standard
  • Facilitate periodic internal compliance assessments and spot-checks on applicable O&P standards related to the O&P Operating, Post-COD team
  • Collaborate with applicable business areas to identify and implement technologies to automate and streamline compliance monitoring and reporting processes
  • Participate in the evaluation and mitigation of potential O&P compliance concern
  • Assist in developing responses to regulatory compliance requests, enforcement actions, and data-reporting from a NERC O&P compliance perspective
  • Participate in industry focus groups and conferences to share information and stay on top of the constantly evolving NERC compliance landscape
  • Identifiesareas for improvement, providing critical feedback regarding the NERC O&P Compliance Program to promote continuous improvement and improve the compliance, security, and efficiency of the O&P departments
  • Leads the development, support, and contributes to the ongoing strategy of the CIP compliance program to meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • In lieu of a degree (if applicable), at least ten (10) years of experience in NERC compliance
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with renewable generation
  • NERC O&P experience
  • Experience preparing evidence and participating in NERC O&P audits
  • NERC O&P audit experience for the Generator (GO) and Generator Operator (GOP) function
  • System Operations and/or technical background related to generation
  • Strong people management skills
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of different backgrounds
  • NERC Portal Administrative applications: Align, NERC Alerts, CORES
  • Demonstrated ability to develop internal controls
  • Demonstrated presentation and development skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $122,000 - $184,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
