Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Finance Project Manager.

In this role, the successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Administration, the Finance Project Manager oversees day-to-day operations for the financial administration of the departments research portfolio. The positions works closely with the departments research PIs and leadership with the goal of growing the departments research portfolio, liaising closely with the Pod to implement best practice, and maintaining the highest level of quality and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

    1. Manages all financial aspects of the sponsored projects post-award portfolio and non-sponsored project research-related financial needs.
    2. Leads the preparation for and facilitation of monthly PI portfolio meetings, proactively identifying upcoming financial issues and recommending solutions, develops projections and alternative spending options as requested by PI's, calculates projected carryover and assists with development of alternative budget scenarios for prior approval and carryover requests.
    3. Serves as a key resource for faculty for NYULH research and non-research financial systems (e.g., vendor onboarding, purchase orders, compliance, consultation agreements, clinical research billing, subject compensation, technology approvals and any other research relevant areas).
    4. Identifies opportunities for improvement and designs and implements department systems and process guides to improve research productivity.
    5. In collaboration with the research administration team, anticipates and delivers all post award financial reporting needs required for continuations, RPPRs or other sponsor identified reporting (including but not limited to BvAs, personnel reports, team and grant financial projections), monitors authorizations and AA expirations, contributing to renewals where required, reviews and verifies faculty and trainee effort for federal time and effort/payroll verification on a quarterly basis. Supports associated transaction submission.
    6. Reviews and approves all financial reporting packages due to Research Finance Operations.
    7. Serves as the departments expert and primary contact for all special invoicing and financial reporting requirements for non-NIH sponsors (SAMHSA, NYS, NYC, etc.), implements tracking systems to ensuring that all non-NIH invoicing and financial reporting is completed correctly and on time, acts as the primary DCAP contact for institutional and sponsor concerns.
    8. Reviews and approves all departmental grant supported OTPS expenditures to ensure compliance with NIH and NYULH requirements. Supports PI's in identifying options where concerns are identified.
    9. Maintains database of all outbound subcontracts to ensure they are billing at least quarterly and that these expenses are being journalized on the appropriate chartstrings and purchase orders.
    10. Serves as primary contact for subaward organizations finance teams for any concerns related to finance.
    11. Prepares quarterly financial update presentations for department leadership and research faculty meetings.
    12. Monitors the department's Federal Grants Spend Analysis Dashboard and prepares semiannual summaries for review with the Department Administrator and Chair.
    13. Supports the Department Administrator and Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Administration in faculty recruitment packages and financial plans.
    14. Maintains database of capital equipment purchases on non-sponsored projects to ensure that the expenses are allocated to the appropriate chartstring after journalizing onto the Fund 55.
    15. Fosters strong collaborative relationships throughout the institution, especially with central offices in Research Administration, including but not limited to SPA, RDI, CRSU, TOV and RFO.
    16. Works with institutional peers to improve collaboration and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters Degree in Health Care, Public Health or Business Administration. Minimum of three years of management level responsibility in business administration for a healthcare organization or other similar industry is required. Thorough knowledge of pre- and post-award grants administration; Deep understanding of federal, state and local policies governing sponsored research; Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, often with matrix management responsibilities. Proficiency in managing complex, multi-source budgets; familiarity with grants and government contracts. Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communications skills required along with tact and diplomacy.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.96-$114,450.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
