What is the Opportunity?

A Junior RSS Structurer responsible for supporting senior RSS structurers in analyzing clients' exposures, crafting customized hedging strategies, and preparing analyses and presentations for clients. This critical position requires applying financial modeling, a profound understanding of derivative products, market dynamics, and risk assessment to help clients navigate currency-related challenges. Additionally, this role contributes to covering US Corporate clients, combining financial expertise with a keen understanding of global business needs. Joining a growing team, the analyst extend to providing FX, interest rate, and commodity solutions for RBC's North American corporate and institutional client base.

What will you do?

  • Support senior RSS structurers to assess clients' currency risk exposures, considering their business operations and collaborating with sales and clients to understand specific needs, goals, and risk tolerance.
  • Develop, present, and recommend tailored hedging solutions to mitigate currency risks for the North American client base. Take the lead in drafting trade ideas and creating client presentations, utilizing financial models for simulating potential hedging scenarios.
  • Play a key role in structuring, pricing, and pitching ideas to clients, engaging directly with clients, sales, and traders. Implement foreign exchange transactions to execute chosen hedging strategies.
  • Stay informed about global economic trends, geopolitical events, and market developments impacting currency markets. Provide comprehensive market analysis and generate a full spectrum of market updates proactively.
  • Collaborate with Sales Desks, Trading Desks, Investment Banking, Origination, and Risk functions for seamless execution of derivative transactions for clients.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all transactions and agreements. Provide clients with insights and education on foreign exchange markets. Continuously monitor hedging strategy effectiveness and deliver regular reports to clients.
  • Proactively identify operational risks and control deficiencies, promptly escalating operational risk loss events and associated risks to line managers and relevant risk, control, and Compliance functions.
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to RSS business activities

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong experience with excel-, python-based modeling, and presentation preparation.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a team-oriented environment and establish strong internal and external relationships.
  • Hard working and strongly motivated to help drive growth and deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage large workload in high pressure environment and to demonstrate flexibility to respond to ad hoc, time sensitive requests efficiently and effectively.

Required:

  • College graduate with history of strong academic performance
  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics and markets; understanding of derivatives products a plus
  • Familiarity with corporate financial reporting and accounting (e.g. 10K and associated SEC filings)
  • Series 7, 63, SIE and NFA Swaps Proficiency (will be required within a reasonable time after joining if not currently held)

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $130,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
