The Operations Finance Business Partner position provides finance leadership and handles financial management for manufacturing, distribution, and mail order operations. This role will be responsible for daily financial tasks, monthly closing activities, annual budget and forecast preparation, and long-term strategic planning. The Operations Finance Business Partner position shall ensure adherence to all Company policies and procedures for manufacturing, costing, distribution activities, cost of goods sold, transfer pricing, inventory management, and mail order operations. This will require active communication and collaboration with business unit executives and directors to ensure accurate financial data and analysis are completed in a timely manner for impactful decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with manufacturing, distribution, and mail order operations to support operational and strategic development through the modeling of financial scenarios, work proactively with the business to develop and track KPI's and ad hoc analyses to allow for review, analysis, and management of financial drivers and performance.
  • Partner in developing reliable operational and financial budgets and forecasts for manufacturing, distribution, and mail order operations, to include reporting of actual performance and key drivers of variances to budget and forecast.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate operational reporting system in order to evaluate operating results, performance against budget and/or forecast, operational efficiency and optimization, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and effectiveness of the operation.
  • Provide visibility around costs related to plant operations and processes through relevant analysis and reporting. Ensure compliance with Alfasigma financial policies, costing standards, and best practices.
  • Promote implementation and best usage of technology, tools, and applications for all operations to drive accuracy and efficiency in managing operational data and outputs.
  • Develop and maintain the company's cost accounting system to support cost analysis and financial modeling for production output. Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead costs against standard/budget. Research and explain variances. Update standard labor and overhead rates on a periodic basis.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure proper oversight over business processes. Recommend any amendments or changes to accounting policies, procedures, and controls as necessary.
  • Develop, control, and manage capital investment plans and requests, including robust evaluations of capital spending requests.
  • Direct interpretation, analysis, accounting treatment, and associated output for all agreements and contracts impacting the business unit.
  • Perform ad hoc cost analysis to support purchasing, inventory management, distribution, manufacturing and packaging, and mail order operations as designated by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Travel: approximately 25%

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar business background
  • Master's Degree and/or CPA certification desirable
  • 5+ years of cost or operations accounting/finance experience, preferably with manufacturing and/or operations experience
  • Working knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and standards
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and Great Plains or other ERP system preferred
  • Must be detailed oriented and have proven ability to organize, analyze, set priorities, and multi task in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated success in working in a team environment supporting operations, sales, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Must be organized and communicate well
