Summary
Marcum's Healthcare Advisory and Consulting group is an industry leader in assisting clients with federal and state reimbursement programs and responding to the ever changing regulatory environment. The Healthcare Consulting Director is specifically responsible for cost report preparation for both state and federal government healthcare programs.

Position Responsibilities
  • Prepare required governmental cost reports for healthcare clients (nursing homes).
  • Work with Excel spreadsheets to prepare work papers and supplemental schedules.
  • Acquire necessary information and documentation for preparation of report through direct contact with clients.
  • Research various Healthcare provider industry issues.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments affecting Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and other technical areas.
  • Research and write bulletins.
  • Work with staff and partners on various Healthcare projects.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years experience in producing Medicaid cost reports on behalf of healthcare / nursing home providers
  • Demonstrated expertise ofIllinois state reimbursement process (knowledge of other states' reimbursement processes a plus)
  • Thorough understanding of titles XVIII and XIX regarding Medicare and Medicaid laws
  • Demonstrated competence in advanced functions in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience working directly with state healthcare agencies
  • Client management and interaction experience a plus
