The Silk Road Medical Principal Therapy Development Specialist is a clinically oriented ambassador responsible for driving the adoption and sales of the TCAR (Transcarotid Artery revascularization) procedure. This individual will become a trusted clinical partner and TCAR specialist to drive safe adoption, superior outcomes and achieve sales revenue of Silk Road Medical products. The ideal candidate practices excellent clinical/case acumen and relationship management with physician and healthcare professional customers. The Silk Road Medical Therapy Development Specialist is a partner and resource to the SRM cross functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Office of Medical Affairs.

This is a field-based position.

A "Day in the life"

  • Provide quality support to accounts, ensuring procedural success and superior outcomes for Silk Road Products
  • Drive safe adoption and superior outcomes of TCAR (Transcarotid Artery revascularization) procedures by providing sound technical and clinical support
  • Supports TCAR teams with appropriate products, clinical literature and pre case planning strategy
  • Educate implanting teams on proper indications for TCAR procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and relevant literature
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for optimal customer support and product improvement
  • Ensure excellent customer service and resolve complaints promptly
  • Maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and handle administrative responsibilities
  • Report device complaints to proper departments within quality assurance within Silk Road Medical
  • Develop and deliver effective sales presentations and training sessions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders
  • Stay current with local, national, and international regulations, standards, and guidelines applicable to medical devices and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or technical degree or comparable experience
  • Typically, 8+ years clinical, medical device or related experience
  • Experience in a consultative role in applicable vascular environment; i.e. operating room setting

ote: New employees in this role will undergo the TCAR Certification program within the first 120 days of employment to gain the necessary clinical knowledge and become a trusted clinical partner in TCAR adoption.

Additional skills you have

  • Strong, proven medical device sales/clinical track record with documented growth and achievements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets, build customer relationships, and effectively close deals
  • Knowledge of imaging modalities (duplex ultrasound/catheter angiography/CTA, MRA), EKG, procedural hemodynamics, heart rate, blood pressure, knowledge of pharmaceutical/drug regiments, and ancillary procedural solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey product information, articulate value propositions, and build rapport with healthcare professionals
  • Ability to comprehend complex medical device technologies and explain them in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, and decision-makers
  • Understanding of healthcare economics, reimbursement processes, and the financial aspects of sales process

The job could be for a Sr. Therapy Development Specialist or Principal Therapy Development Specialist. The exact level of the job will be chosen based on the chosen candidate's experience.


Physical Job Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally the employee will be required to lift or move at least 20 pounds. The employee will also be required to work in Cath Labs/Angiography suites, Hybrid OR's and/or OR's with radiation exposure, with an understanding of maintenance of the sterile field.
