Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Position:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, who will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing several facets of process development and process improvement.

Key Goals:

Become a trusted and respected part of an Engineering Team. Achieve the System development performance goals on the AVNA Report Card (Efficiency, Cost savings, downtime, and continuous improvement), assigned objectives related to AVNA strategy, as well as working with and training under a lead Manufacturing Engineers and cell leaders. Candidate must show measurable improvement in process cost and/or scrap reduction on assigned projects within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Makes their team members and others better. Leads by example
  • Drives for results and customer satisfaction (Reference AVNA Report Card)
  • Total Customer Satisfaction, both internal and external
  • Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results/variances (productivity, quality, customer service); initiating corrective actions and driving cost efficiency; minimizing the impact of variances
  • Substantiate any costs incurred with corrective actions using downtime data, cycle time improvements, and overall process efficiency. Also use ROI strategies when reporting.
  • Seeks to understand all facets of a manufacturing process or other before implementing change.
  • Utilize root cause and corrective action to troubleshoot an solve problems
  • Creates' plan(s) that allow the monitoring and understanding of success post implementation.
  • Lead the with the development and execution of protocols, work process instructions, SIIP's and any additional technical documents
  • Resolve production issues as they are assigned

    Key Skills

    • Parts Finishing processes such as Tumbling, Cleaning, Passivation or Electropolishing
    • Lean Manufacturing Principals
    • Understanding of the PFMEA Process
    • Understanding of Root Cause principals
    • Basic Technical Writing (Work Instructions, Setup Instructions)
    • MS Excel

    Key Experience

    • Minimum five years' experience in manufacturing
    • Experience in Medical device is preferred
    • Some knowledge of tooling concepts preferred

    Education Experience

    • Minimum associate degree in Engineering Technology or pursuing
