| Overview | The Department of Neurosurgery houses the only allopathic Neurosurgery Residency Training Program in New Jersey and collaborates with an extensive array of health care providers across the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences units. These well-qualified new faculty members will manage and build upon a thriving academic department at the Assistant/Associate, and/or Professor rank. Rutgers has a residency program, a vast campus community, and clinical centers at New Jersey Medical School in Newark and at Cooperman Barnabas in Livingston. Across our many campuses, there is a wealth of clinical material with basic and translational research opportunities along with educational avenues for training medical students and residents. |

Vast opportunity exists to develop clinical or laboratory research within the framework of the Rutgers institution. Exceptional teamwork, program development, teaching and mentorship abilities are essential, though we also welcome applicants with a demonstrated ability to develop independent research programs with extramural funding. The candidates will be expected to contribute to clinical and educational activities with an emphasis on mentoring students and trainees. Prospective applicants interested in basic research will also be granted protected time to develop lab interests and acquire extramural funding.
