We're seeking a future team member for the role of Head of Investment Managers segment to join our Issuer Services - Sales and Relationship Management team. This role will be located in New York, NY - as a hybrid role.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage an Investment Manager client base with annual revenues of close to $350MM. Products managed include CLOs, Loan administration across private and public credit funds, SMAs, ABLs and other securitizations.
  • Build existing client relationships to create effective partnership with a view to securing new revenues and growing relationships through new business activity
  • Manage a team of high performing Sales and Relationship Managers
  • Collaborate and partner with business functions to ensure growth is achieved in a scalable and sustainable manner.
  • Be able to navigate and partner with internal stakeholders to effectively manage and grow enterprise wide client relationships in line with firm wide strategic growth initiatives.
  • Responsible for revenue goals within the business unit(s).
  • Sets the strategy for business development in assigned business(es) and develops tactics to execute on that strategy in support of the business unit goals, and focuses on responsible business growth that is compliant, of acceptable risk and profitable.
  • Participates in and contributes to the development of firm-wide strategy and goals and interfaces regularly with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ensures that business development strategy supports firm-wide strategic goals and objectives. Tracks and reports on business development results for the function.
  • Identifies the markets and areas for future growth and development
  • Sets the standards for dealing with unprecedented, complex or intricate issues regarding prospect needs, deal structure, negotiations, priorities, compliance, regulations, etc.
  • Establishes guiding principles or standard operating procedures to ensure consistency of approach across the family.
  • Reviews and approves deal structure ensuring optimal terms for both the client and the firm and mitigating risk where necessary.
  • Actively sources for key roles and identifies candidates with existing relationships that would supplement the Banks relationships.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, while an MBA or other advanced degree is preferable
  • 10 - 15 years of (add in specific experience) experience
  • 5 years of management experience
  • Knowledge of capital markets generally and specific knowledge of credit/structure finance products such as CLOs, Credit funds, and Loans

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
