We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate, Operational Technology (OT). The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting and securing our operational technology infrastructure at our generation and control center facilities while complying with NERC regulations and standards. The successful candidate will work closely with their OT peers to implement, maintain, and monitor OT systems, safeguarding against cyber threats and ensuring operational excellence

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of OT systems across all our facilities, ensuring their reliability, security, and compliance
  • Monitor OT systems for security threats and vulnerabilities, promptly responding to and mitigating any identified risks
  • Participate in the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies and procedures specific to the OT environment in compliance with NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards
  • Assist with the collection and curation of NERC CIP evidence in preparation for future compliance audits
  • Assist in conducting regular internal compliance audits and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to NERC CIP requirements and other applicable regulations
  • Support incident response and recovery operations, including the documentation and analysis of performance or security incidents within OT environments
  • Participate in training and awareness programs for staff on OT security best practices and compliance responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical issues impacting the performance and reliability of OT systems
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure the security and reliability of third-party systems and services integrated into the OT infrastructure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operational technology, cybersecurity, or a related field, preferably in the energy sector or with NERC-registered facilities
  • Familiarity with NERC CIP standards and requirements
  • Understanding of industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and their unique security challenges
  • Basic knowledge of network security protocols, cybersecurity frameworks, and risk management principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical or security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CISA, SSCP, CISSP, GICSP, or similar are highly desirable

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $69,000- $104,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
