Responsibilities
  • Safely perform general maintenance work as required, including repairs, modifications, and inspections
  • Perform maintenance repairs and/or troubleshooting on rotating and fixed equipment (pumps, blowers, compressors, piping, valves, heat exchangers, gear reducers, hydraulic systems, boilers, steam systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks)
  • Perform work using a forklift, man-lift, dollies, machine shop machine tools (lathe, milling machine, drill press) and other equipment
  • Operate rigging equipment such as hoists, overhead cranes and mobile cranes
  • Perform a wide variety of predictive and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Perform precision tasks (fitting of bearings, aligning gears and shafts, connecting couplings and belts to precise tolerances)
  • Use of SAP Plant Maintenance Module for accessing and documenting maintenance work and ordering parts
  • Understand and be proficient at taking precision measurements, including precision laser alignment
  • Write, review and follow all standard operating and maintenance procedures and job plans
  • Understand, troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues utilizing technical skills, equipment, and information such as drawings and manuals
  • Review and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices for the safety of themselves, other employees and contractors
  • Actively participate in all plant related Health, Safety, Environmental and Security training, policies and programs
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems in industrial field desired
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for trouble-shooting and problem solving
  • A strong commitment to working safely and to the safety of others
