Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant General Counsel - Supply Chain Management & IT.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide independent, competent, timely legal advice and assistance to NYU Langone Health in the area of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and the Medical Centers Information Technology Department (MCIT). The Assistant General Counsel will work closely and under the direction of the Associate General Counsel & Director (Supply Chain, MCIT and Pharmacy) to manage the contracting workload and processes for SCM and MCIT and other legal activities for NYU Langone Health System (Health System).

Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal review, advice and drafting in negotiating commercial contracts for SCM for the acquisition of goods and services, such as purchase, rental, services, consignment and evaluation agreements for the Health System, assuring consistency with business terms, policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide legal review, advice and drafting in negotiating software licenses, SAAS and technology agreements for MCIT, assuring consistency with business terms, policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide legal advice in relation to applicability of anti-kickback statute and regulations in contracting matters.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the organization core values and incorporate them in the performance of duties.
    • Upon request, provide legal advice to other departments of the Health System on contract matters and interpretation.
    • Review and revise policies, procedures and training materials as needed.
    • Develop and update templates and support the implementation of the template library of contract provisions for purchase of services and goods.
    • Develop training materials and provide legal training to assigned clients and contracting staff.
    • Keep track of daily assignments and update contract tracking management system (e.g., ONIT) and produce reports as needed.
    • Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations and case decisions that bear on contracting in the health care and biomedical research contexts.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Admission to the NY Bar with at least five (5) years experience in broad-based business contracting, including experience in system and software licensing and IT contracting.
Experience in health care and/or academic medical centers is highly preferred as well as knowledge and applicability of anti-kickback statute and regulations in contracting matters; pro-active, effective oral, written communication skills and the ability to collaborate collegial with diverse personnel.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $213,477.55 - $252,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
