Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is currently seeking a Trade Advocacy Manager

Reporting to the SVP, Commercial Marketing, the Trade Advocacy Manager will educate sales teams by sharing their depth of knowledge in the spirits category, inspire our distributor partners with the story of our portfolio, and build relationships and network with key stakeholders on premise.

Will form relationships with key accounts and distributor managers and salespeople. This role will work collaboratively with sales as point of contact in the most influential on-premise accounts, conducting education, driving menu placements, and activating tastings in a key focus market. In addition to these Ambassador responsibilities, this role also manages a team of four Regional Portfolio Brand Ambassadors as direct reports, providing guidance and coaching to ensure KPIs are met and budgets are managed effectively. The expected split of time is 75% in-market work, and 25% of the time will be spent actively managing and directing his or her direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of spirits categories: production, trends and cocktails/mixology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing and delivering presentations
  • Must have exceptional follow-up
  • Deadline oriented self-starter who holds self to high standard of work quality
  • Ability to interface with the distributor network
  • Strong influencing and partnering skills
  • Social media savvy
  • Strong track record of successful budget management

Responsibilities:

IN MARKET WORK: 75%

  • Trade Outreach & Engagement (65%)
    • Grow relationships and distribution in core set of influential on- and off-premise accounts (per target account list)
    • Provide support to key distributor salespeople and managers
    • Secure menu placements in targeted accounts
    • Program influential on-premise accounts
    • Conduct in-store sampling events
  • Trade Education and Events (10%)
    • Serve as product knowledge expert for DFWS Spirits
      • Communicate features and benefits
      • Communicate heritage and equity of the brand
    • Educate trade, and distributor/broker partners on benefits of DFWS Spirits
    • Support sales division teams at distributor meetings and events
    • Support trade and consumer shows as required
    • Assist in planning and execution of national events

MANAGEMENT OF DIRECT REPORTS: 25%

  • Conducts weekly status meetings with direct reports
  • Maintains master calendar/schedule for all Ambassadors
  • Consolidates KPIs across direct reports and provides monthly updates on progress to VP spirits
  • Tracks T&E for Ambassador team, ensuring it is on budget and managed effectively
  • Helps resolve competing priorities between markets as required
  • Develops team KPIs annually
  • Ensures completion of collaborative targeted account lists each fiscal
  • Decision maker for whiskey event participation with input from the Ambassadors
