Site planner/Construction manager

The primary responsibilities for this position are to provide site planning support to Varian's sales partners and our customers and to collaborate and consult with the design and construction teams. Provide management of construction and non-standard Rigging services provided to select customers using our preferred contractors under the Professional Services programs:

  • Virtual Attendance or Travel to Customer locations for site planning meetings with the customer, their design/construction team, and Varian sales.
  • Major responsibilities:
  • Develop Customer Project Design Development and Equipment Coordination Drawings and Shielding Recommendations as required in project planning.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings for compliance with Varian equipment site preparation requirements.
  • Coordinate projects with customers, their architects, contractors, and Varian installation staff. Respond to Requests for Information
  • (RFIs) from the Customer's design team for technical information.
  • Provide first-line management of small to moderate construction projects, including Scope Development, Request for proposal and award process, construction oversight, and Contract Administration.
  • Responsible for providing Planning & CM services across a regionally assigned large Planning Region.
  • Note: The duties listed above reflect general responsibilities necessary for the performance of the job and may not include additional ad-hoc assignments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in architecture, construction, healthcare, or facilities planning organization.
  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent), Architecture, Construction Mgmt., or Project Mgmt. is preferred.
  • Experience with Medical Radiation Oncology equipment or related high technology equipment installation design (is a plus but not mandatory).
  • General knowledge of construction codes and government radiation regulations is required.
  • Experience in the preparation and reviewing of construction documents.
  • Experience and knowledge in construction management and processes are highly desired.
  • Experience/knowledge of equipment delivery and rigging processes through occupied finished spaces.
  • Proficient in utilizing PC business tools such as Outlook, Microsoft Project (TaskRay), SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software is mandatory.
  • Possess strong communication, customer relations, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess the ability, competence, and confidence to lead people.
  • Willing to travel about 25% to project sites within the US and Canada area.

The base pay range for this position is

Min $70,100 - Max $122,800

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
