Overview: Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to add to our team in Plainville, CT. Responsibilities:
  • May be expected to design portions of a project.
  • Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills.
  • Uses catalogs to specify items where original design is not required.
  • Instructs drafters how to reduce designs into completed drawings.
  • Performs research and writes opinions.
  • Uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve engineering problems.
  • Performs other work as apparent or assigned.
  • Works safely and abides by the firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Expected to design portions of a project without immediate oversight.
  • Responsible for task budgets under the supervision of a Project Manager.
Requirements:
  • May be expected to design portions of a project.
  • Understands the physical environment – including landforms and topography – and how these elements interact with the built environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective technical skills.
  • Team working skills.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a degree in engineering.
  • 0-5 years' related experience.
  • Alternatively, may have a Master’s degree and no experience.
  • Have passed the EIT Exam.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, hiking, and standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
  • Mobility control of hands to setup equipment, handle samples, and operate tools.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
