Spire Hospitality LLC, a fast-growing, private equity backed company managing 29 full service premium branded properties across the United States is seeking an Accounting Specialist to work closely across all departments on the accounting team to facilitate tasks in completion of department responsibilities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist guests with billing issues & adjustments, etc. in a timely professional manner
  • Assist Catering Department and group contacts by preparing event and master account invoices
  • Assist with the daily income journal reconciliation
  • Work with accounting, accounts payable, tax, and capital departments
  • Maintain and support internal control policies and procedures, active collaboration with corporate accounting and property level staff
  • Assist with monthly accounting close process for hotel and corporate including bank/balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, cash flow analysis and intercompany activities
  • Work with accounting team on cash flow tracking and treasury activities
  • Prepare accounts payable uploads for multi-entity billings
  • Process sales tax exemptions and maintain supporting documentation
  • Assist in gathering supporting documents for annual audits
  • Perform administrative and other tasks as needed
  • Additional assignments from leadership team as needed for special projects

Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess core accounting knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, month-end closing process, financial statement generation, work paper documentation and analysis, knowledge of accounting concepts, accrual accounting, and revenue recognition. This position requires strong time management skill set with a focus on meeting deadlines and having the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Office applications is required. The ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment across departments is critical. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management is required. Previous accounting experience is a plus.
