Working collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the Crisis Prevention Associate works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, participating in carrying out nursing interventions to provide patients with opportunities for learning adaptive ways of coping. The Crisis Prevention Associate works to maintain safety as a one to one to assure that the patient does not harm himself/herself.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Assists the nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu /environment to ensure safe care and treatment of patients.
    • 1.1 Provides one to one observation with continuous visualization at all times to ensure safety
  • 2. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for actions.
    • 2.1 Demonstrates competency in managing patient problems such as aggression

Qualifications

EDUCATION


High School Diploma


EXPERIENCE


Minimum two (2) years prior experience preferred in Psychiatry and or related field preferred, working with specialized populations such as emotionally disturbed adults, adolescents and or children and families.


SPECIAL SKILLS


Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team to communicate and effectively deal with complex charged situations and crisis management skills.


PHYSICAL DEMAND


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently stoop , kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Incumbents as well as external and internal applicants who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without the assistance of reasonable accommodation as determined on a case by case basis.



Additional Information

HOURS: Full time; Evenings with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

HS diploma. experience in psychiatry required and security preferred
