Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 3PM to 11PM
$400 Sign-On Bonus paid after 90 Days

This individual also oversees the night audit operation to ensure closing of the night is done properly and accurately.

THE ROLE
The Maintenance Tech reports to the Chief Engineering, and like all qualified engineers, possesses the diverse knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration. As a working engineer, this position is required to be hands-on and dive into the day-to-day operation, service and repairs of hotel equipment, so if you prefer to "see the forest" and not willing to "plant the trees", this is not a role for you.

The role will also actively develop trusting and transparent relations with fellow associates of the hotel. WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Uphold and role model the company's principles of People, Place and to ensure the experiences of translocal hospitality, intuitive service, and collaboration
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environment
  • Handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces and grounds
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel's safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
  • Participate in the room preventative maintenance program
  • Use your skills and intuition to detect equipment malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as needed
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards; Participate in all scheduled training classes and meetings
  • Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs
  • Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Communicate with Director on projects as assigned
  • Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • This position requires knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, fire safety, HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Day to day work includes routine building inspections and maintenance, inclusive of repairs of guest rooms, public & event spaces, back of house and grounds.
  • Responsibilities also include maintaining all equipment, systems and building components including, mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, doors, locks, closers, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile, glass and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Must possess a high standard of a safe and clean working environment.
  • Has prior experience with commercial building safety systems.
  • A commitment for responsible action in maintenance or operating problems which affect the security and condition of the buildings.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as needed.
  • Has experience using hand and electrical tools, inclusive of basic math skills, to read a ruler.
  • Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Reports to Head of Engineering and has great teamwork.
  • Communicates respectfully and effectively with Guests and colleagues.
  • Is organized, patient and timely with all guest requests.
  • Preferred Experience with Drywall, Framing and Painting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance; previous experience as a hotel engineer preferred or comparable experience in a office or apartment complex
  • Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work by yourself, self-motivating, and be a cooperative team member.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
