Posting Summary | The Summer Institute is a dynamic Summer Enrichment initiative designed to assist first year students with the transition from high school to college. The program focuses on developing the knowledge and skills needed in the college classroom setting that scholars will need in the Fall semester. We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as support instructors for the Summer Program. The role commences with a tentatively scheduled Instructor Orientation in May 2024, followed by a series of preparation and training meetings in June. Faculty Orientation and student onboarding are scheduled for the beginning of July. The main responsibilities, including course instruction, tutoring, testing, evaluation, participation in the end-of-program ceremony, and other administrative duties, will span from July 8th to August 8th. It is essential to note that this program will be conducted on campus and in person. Program Academic Components:
Responsibilities: * Participate in planning and pre-program training meetings. * Cover course material and test on content. * Participate in SN-EOF Faculty team meetings to monitor student academic success. * Track academic progress by administering exams, quizzes, and assignments. * Execute diagnostic testing as an assessment of student strengths and weaknesses. * Provide supplemental support. * Serve as an academic coach for SN-EOF students experiencing academic difficulty. * Collaborate with the SN-EOF Staff on special tasks and assignments such as the debate, the newsletter, and EOF end of the program ceremony.
