The Nuclear Test Technician will provide functional support to Nuclear Applications Engineering to assist with the development, testing and analysis of new and existing products and materials to maintain and improve the Nuclear Product line.

Essential Duties:

  • Under minimal supervision, provides technical support, on site or in the field, on a variety of complex technical tasks.
  • Gathers, and analyzes technical data, such as procedures and test results.
  • Produces documentation, including reports and drawings as required.
  • Conducts tests and records data.
  • Performs complex calculations and interprets results.

  • Gathers, maintains, and analyzes technical data, such as test results.
  • Conduct testing of complex steam and electrical systems.
  • Assemble and design test setups as required.
  • Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, and tests various types of electrical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment and related devices using various test equipment.
  • Understands and interprets electrical and mechanical drawings including schematics. Applies general technical knowledge of electronic principles to put equipment in operational condition and solve problems.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains productive relationships with clients and vendors while maintaining a high level of quality technical service.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Technical or Trade school is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with steam and electrical systems.
  • 4-6 years of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems with engineered products.
  • 4-6 years of experience reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and following test instructions.
  • Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • US Navy, or ship building experience (asset).

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to follow complex procedures and update and originate complex procedures as necessary.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineering team members as needed.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
