University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Director will strategically advance the goals of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) with a focus on alumni from the School of Professional Studies (SPS). Liaising with key partners in SPS, UDAR, and around the University. The Director will foster a community of alumni donors and volunteers, building relationships and engagement with new alumni and prospective alumni donors, and strengthening relationships with previously engaged alumni. This position will lead special events and outreach efforts in support of community-building, including events, volunteer engagement, and regular, effective communication ensuring outreach is aligned and integrated with that of SPS and UDAR. This position works closely with the deans, faculty, office of communications, and other senior leadership at SPS to lead and participate in numerous collaborative activities with colleagues in Student Services, Admissions, Development, and Marketing/Communications. This includes actively partnering with other NYU schools to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the University.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Communications, Event Management, and/or Public Relations
Required Experience:
5+ years experience or equivalent combination
Must include experience with community-building and engagement, planning, and implementing live and virtual special events and activities, and communications and outreach including social media in a collaborative environment, as well as volunteer management and staff supervision
Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic, non-profit and/or development environment
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to juggle multiple assignments and maintain close attention to detail
Familiarity with spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing software
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with MS Office
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00 to USD $135,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
