CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer Coordinator to join our Infrastructure - Transportation/Bridge Team at our office in Hartford, CT. The professional in this role will be responsible for coordination of the project(s), daily interactions between the client(s) and design engineers, and scheduling/facilitating meetings among other tasks. While working closely with professional engineers, the Transportation Engineer Coordinator assists in the administrative and technical management of CTDOT Bridge Rehabilitation/Replacement projects. The Coordinator works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Transportation Engineer Coordinator aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The Coordinator performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. This position is also expected to solve routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required
• EIT certification is preferred
• No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
• CONDOT experience a plus
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
• Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
• Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
