HDR is actively seeking an Office Engineer (OE) to join our growing New York City Water group. The selected candidate will be responsible to assist Resident Engineer to process submittal, contractor payments, documentation and record keeping on NYCDEP water and wastewater infrastructure projects in various locations across NYC 5 boroughs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that proper documentation is received from Contractors for all aspects of contract.
  • Prepare status and progress reports.
  • Coordinate and track all project plans and drawings.
  • Ensure that Change Order work and Time and Material work is accurately documented on Daily Inspector's Reports
  • Prepare and/or review change orders.
  • Attend construction progress meeting and prepare Project Meeting Minutes and monthly report as required.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to oversight of a team of sub-consultants.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize work.
  • Support Resident Engineer with the preparation and maintenance of construction schedules.
  • Assist in project close-out activities including the As-Built Drawing, documentations, and resolution of potential claims.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of relevant Office Engineer experience involved in infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with contract documents and construction plans and specifications and proficient with web-based construction document management platforms.
  • Experience working with NYCDEP.
  • Must be proficient in the use of computer to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Typical starting pay range for this position is $97,000.00 - $139,000.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
